The studio
A small base,
built deliberately.
Eastbase is an independent eastern software studio — a small team, a growing shelf of products, and a stubborn belief that small software can be excellent.
From the team
“We started Eastbase to ship the software we kept wishing existed — small tools that respect your time, your clients, and your codebase. There's no growth department and no roadmap theater here. When you write to any of these products, we're the ones who answer.”
— Daniel & the Eastbase team
The mission
Build useful internet products, keep them calm, and stay independent enough to mean it.
How the studio works
Five principles,
kept honest.
Start from a real itch
Every product begins as a problem felt firsthand — an unpaid invoice, an unreviewable pull request, a trip stuck in twenty tabs. If the studio wouldn't use it weekly, it doesn't get built.
Ship small, then sharpen
Version one does one job properly. Everything after is sharpening: faster, clearer, kinder. Products here are finished the way a knife is finished — repeatedly.
Design is the product
An interface should read like good typography: quiet, exact, nothing wasted. Visual polish isn't decoration; it's how software earns trust at first glance.
Calm is a feature
No dark patterns, no engagement traps, no manufactured urgency. The best compliment a tool can get is that it lowered someone's pulse.
Stay independent
Self-funded by design. Products live or die on usefulness, not fundraising milestones — which keeps every decision pointed at the people using them.
The bearing so far
One direction,
product by product.
The shelf grows slowly on purpose. Each product has to hold its own weight before the next one starts.
SmartTrips

DueKind

Client work
We also build
for clients.
The offers started arriving once the products did — teams asking for a SmartTrips for their niche, a DueKind for their workflow, a governance layer of their own. Commissioned SaaS is now part of the studio.
End to end
Strategy, design, and build — by the same small team that ships every Eastbase product.
Same standards
The calm, the polish, and the restraint you see across this site, applied to your product.
Few slots
A handful of commissions a year, chosen for fit. If it's not a match, we'll say so early.
